Dr. Mark Newkirk has been in veterinary practice since 1981, graduating from the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He is extensively trained in medicine and surgery and also is skilled in the care of exotic pets such as reptiles and birds.

As the owner/director of Margate Animal Hospital and Alternative Care Center (where he started working at age 14 as kennel help - you've come a long way baby!!), he now practices what he terms "complementary medicine". That is he uses whatever therapies are available to him to treat the whole animal in the best way possible. It’s a blend of both worlds, traditional and alternative medicines!

Current modalities practiced include, herbal therapy, homeopathy, Veterinary Chiropractic (activator method), Metabolic Nutritional Balancing, nutrition and nutri-ceutical therapy, NAET - the allergy elimination therapy, glandular therapy and holistic cancer therapy.

Dr. Newkirk is also one of the few doctors in the country currently undergoing training by the nationally renowned Dr. Martin Goldstein, founder of immunoaugmentative therapy for animals - and author of the best selling book, The Nature of Animal Healing.
